This 16-day trek takes you to the roots of one of the dominant Tamang culture of Nepal. Located between Langtang and Ganesh Himal you will embark upon the journey filled with the cultural aspect of the Tamang people. This heritage tour takes you the Tibetian region in the northern Nepal and introduces you with some of the most welcoming and friendly group of people, you will learn their culture, understand their way of life and get acquainted with their religion.

Through the beautiful villages, to the thick forests and valleys, we will trek in one of the most beautiful trekking routes in Nepal with a beautiful view of the majestic mountains by our side. This blend of culture and nature is truly one of the better treks around. The route is moderately difficult and since this is a 16-day trek, we advise physical fitness and a good stamina. Although prior trekking experience is preferred, even the novice trekkers can proficiently complete this trek.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

    Your journey starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. Our representative will receive you from Tribhuwan International Airport. You will be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your trek. Take an evening off to see the nightlife of Kathmandu valley. Breakfast included

  • Day 02: Kathmandu - Syabrubesi (1,550m)

    Early morning breakfast and we set off from the capital to the village of Syanbrubesi. Through the winding roads, we will be accompanied by the view of the beautiful mountains, rivers, and hills which will make this long drive seem enjoyable. With Annapurna, Ganesh Himal and Manaslu right through your window, you will not feel the hours gone. Approximately 9-10 hours of drive. BLD included

  • Day 03: Syabrubesi - Gatlang (2,200m)

    Starting out trek on foot we cross the village of Goljung. On our path, we can see the beautiful mountains like Ganesh, Sishapangma and LangtangLirung peeking at us. Approximately 5 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 04: Gatlang - Tatopani (2,607m)

    After our breakfast, we descend down to Thangbunche along the beautiful mountain views at our disposal. Here, we also cross the Chilime Hydropower dam. After that, we again climb uphill and reach Tatopani. We stay for the night. Approximately 6-7 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 05: Tatopani - Thuman (2,400m)

    We start early and pass through the lush forests along the way. Trekking crosses the forest we reach Bringdang- a Tamang village. We cross Brindang and continue ascending and reach Nagthali hill from where we can view the beautiful mountain like Ganesh, Kerung and Langtang at their best. Then we have a steep drop to Thuman- another Tamang village. Approximately 6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 06: Thuman - Briddim (2,229m)

    Leaving Thuman, we trek on through the lush Rhododendron and oak forest. Slight descent and continuous trek and we reach the village of Briddim- another Tamang village with houses over a half century old. There is a monastery here that we can explore. Approximately 6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 07: Briddim - Lama Hotel (2,470m)

    Continuing on our trial, we pass Khangjim. Walking alongside the Ghopchekhola, we walk through the forests and reach Sherpagaon (village of Sherpas). Continuing further, after a slight ascend we reach Lama Hotel. Approximately 6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 08: Lama Hotel - Langtang (3,430m)

    We continue on our trek through the dense forest. Then we continue upward to the valley. There we can see the beautiful view of LamjungHimal along the way. Prayer wheels, chortens and prayer flags can be along the journey. After continuing through the rocky path, we reach Langtang. Approximately 6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 09: Langtang - Kanjin (3,870m)

    Continuing after breakfast, we walk through the yak pastures and cross a huge mani wall along the way. On the path, we cross many small wooden bridges and after walking for a while we reach Kanjin where we stay for the night.Approximately 4 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 10: Excursion in Kanjin

    This is our day off. We will not continue our journey but stroll around Kyanjin. There is KanjinGompa that we can explore. The view is excelled from the glaciers, icefalls, the beautiful mountains along with the yaks grazing in the field. Approximately 6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 11: Kanjin - Lama Hotel

    We travel back downhill. We cross the forests and walk along the river bank. On our way, we pass through local Tamang villages. This is a short day trek and after walking for a while we reach Lama Hotel. Approximately 6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 12: Lama Hotel - ThuloSyabru (2,130m)

    After breakfast, we continue our trek down the corn fields. We descend down and come across a suspension bridge. We cross Trishuli River and after that, we have to trek through the grassy and rocky plains and reach ThuloSyabro. Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included.

  • Day 13: ThuloSyabru -Dhunche

    Continuing downhill we pass through the grass meadows and rocky steeps. WItht the view of beautiful mountain now fading, we come near the end of our trek. Descending further we reach Dhunche marking the end of our trek. Approximately 5 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 14: Dhunche - Kathmandu

    Early morning breakfast and we board on bus back to Kathmandu from where we started. The drive will probably feel a very long one as you will be tired from two weeks of trek. However, if you awake, you can enjoy the beauty of hills and rivers through your bus window. Approximately 6-7 hours of drive. Breakfast included

  • Day 15: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

    Your trek is over and it is your day to take a tour around Kathmandu. There are many places you can visit like religious spots like Swoyambhunath, Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, etc. Nightlife is one of the major highlight in Kathmandu. Take the evening to the pub or restaurant. Breakfast and farewell dinner included

  • Day 16: Departure from Kathmandu

    Here, your trip formally ends. You will be transferred from your hotel to the Tribhuwan International Airport. Thank you for letting us serve you.
