Kathmandu Paragliding is a new form of adventure sport introduced in Kathmandu that offers a chance to get an eagle’s eye view of the Kathmandu valley. From panoramic views of high-standing hills and snow-covered mountains to the greenery of the Godawari botanical garden, paragliding in Kathmandu is a one-of-a-kind experience unlike any other.
Paragliding in Kathmandu allows you to soar above the clouds and gives you a vista view of the Himalayan ranges like Mount Everest, Ganesh Himal, and more.
Kathmandu Valley encompasses three districts, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, which have a mixture of city life, cultures, and greenery. Godawari, a municipality in the Lalitpur district, is home to the lush Newari culture and various flora and fauna.
The Kathmandu Paragliding tour begins early in the morning after breakfast. The takeoff and landing place is Godawari, based in Lalitpur. Godawari is a 45-minute drive from Kathmandu City. The takeoff view point is 2000 feet above Kathmandu Valley.
From this viewpoint, the Langtang range is easily visible. The best season for paragliding in Kathmandu is regarded to be a monsoon.
From October until the beginning of May, it is highly recommended to take a flight. The most popular months tourists flock for paragliding in Kathmandu Valley are November, December, and January.
The flight lasts 20 to 30 minutes which scheduled times: morning, afternoon, and mid-afternoon. It is best to make pre-bookings with the travel agents.
The majestic Mt. Everest and Ganesh Himal are visible on a clear day. The high hills surrounding the small valley below can also be observed.
Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Paragliding in Kathmandu is truly a serene experience that brings one up close to nature.
The green and culturally significant village of Godawari is also visible from an elevation of around 3900 meters. The majestic views of the mountains and the greenery of the Godawari Botanical Garden will most definitely rejuvenate your soul at the high elevation.
Since Kathmandu Valley has a subtropical climate, heavy summer rainfall will wash away most of the dust and provide a clear view of the green valley.
