The trails of Island Peak Climbing run through the home of ethnic Sherpa culture, the Khumbu region, the Everest Base Camp (5,357m), Kalapathar etc. The peak is named Island because it lies in the middle of the ChhuKung Valley as an island providing exclusive views of the Himalayas and the valley itself.

Trip Highlights
Your heavenly trip to Island Peak with Gokyo and EBC starts right after you reach the beautiful capital city of Kathmandu. You will be placed in hotels and lodges after you land to the Tribhuwan International airport.
You will have a whole day to explore the beautiful city filled with cultural and ethnic beauties. After having breakfast, you can visit Kathmandu durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square all of which are included as the World Heritage sites. After that, you can enjoy the night lights of Thamel and enjoy ethnic Nepali food and have a memorable time. Also, you can engage yourself in some last minute shopping. Breakfast included.
The major thrill to walk starts from the third day after theshort flight to Lukla. This mind-blowing flight is all about the mind-blowing views of snowcapped mountains like Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotseetc. and with those mind blowing outlook this forty minutes flight will pass in a click. After the flight, we head down to the forested valleys and the Everest Region, in an approximately three hours of walk, we reach the beautiful place called Phakding. The trail to Namche Bazar is an exciting one. The mind-blowing views of DudhKoshRiver and the forests of fir, rhododendron, and Magnolia keep you accompanied on the steep climb to Namche bazaar, the entry point to the Everest. Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included.
Climbing to high altitude cannot be done continuously, our body needs to adapt into the climate and for this, and some days are separated for acclimatization. After hiking up to Kunde and Khumjung, we trek through its villages located below Khumbila peak. BLD included.
The trek from Namche to Dole starts early in the morning. The trails run through the places like Kyangjuma and Mong-la with a steep climb through contours of the mountains and reach Dole. The weather is cold and windy most of the time. The trail becomes more fun as we see lush vegetation and animals like musk deer, Himalayan Thar etc. Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included.
Machhermo peak lies on the way and its view is simply awesome. Apart from that, the Tibetan Sherpa culture keeps you accompanied. On the way, we could see the mesmerizing views of Kantega, Cho Oyu and Thamserku. After the five hour walk, we stop at to Machhermo for the day.Approximately 4-5 hours of walk. BLD included.
This trail is blessed with Gokyo lakes and GokyoRi which is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Everest and the other Himalayas. As we move from Machhermo, we begin our steep climb to moraine of Ngozamba Glacier. Approximately 4-5 hours of walk. BLD included.
The hike to GokyoRi is physically less challenging to Everest Base Camp however, one must be careful with altitude sickness. From here we can have the stunning views of Everest, Makalu, and Cho Oyo. The steep climb of about four hours to GokyoRi is not an easy one though.BLD included.
After the breakfast at the Ngazumpa glacier, we follow the trail to Thaknak. This hike is short but is necessary to be prepared for high altitude above.Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included.
The path after this is quite rocky and it crosses the Cho La Pass along with the frozen lake and we can see the amazing views of AmaDablam and the other Himalayas. The trail is steep and slippery and we finally reach Lobuche and stop for the day.Approximately 8-10 hours of walk. BLD included.
For the 360-degree panoramic views of snowcapped mountains like Nuptse, Pumorietc., ThangmaRiju is the best place. We climb up to Everest Base Camp and look at the beautiful Everest, even meet some people who are going to climb the Everest. The trek starts in the early morning with the view of mighty Mt Everest. The trails take us to Kalapathar and back to Lobuche where we spend out the night. Approximately 7-8 hours of walk. BLD included.
Now the trail walks along Khumbu Glacier to Kongma La. Then we reach Chhukung. Here we check our equipment and be ready for mount climbing. We also get necessary guidelines here.Approximately 6-7 hours of walk. BLD included.
After the twist at Lhotse glacier, we reach southeast of the Island Peak lies the base camp where we set the tent and spend our night.Approximately 3-4 hours of walk. BLD included.
In the base camp, you would be provided with mountain climbing training along with the use of equipment and rest of the day is spent resting in the camp itself. This pre-climb training will hlep you to get acquainted with various climbing technique need to go all the way up to Island Peak.BLD included.
This will be long day for you. The trail turns into a steep climb and moves along the rocky path with the narrower slope. With the help of ropes, we cross the snow and ice slope. After the amazing view on the top, we return back to the base camp. Approximately 8-9 hours of walk. BLD included.
On the way, we pass through villages of Orsho and Shomare along with the soothing view of the valley below with ImjaTse River will make your walk even easier.Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included.
The trail runs along the rhododendron and juniper forests, DudhKoshi River and eventually reachesNamche Bazar and stay overnight. Approximately 4-5 hours of walk. BLD included.
This marks the last day of the trek and it is a steep downward trail. The trekkers need to be careful and balances as the trail are steep and rocky. We reach Lukla. Approximately 6-7 hours of walk. BLD included.
In a short flight, we reach Kathmandu and the day is all yours. You can take a city tour filled with cultural heritages and engage in souvenir shopping. Here we complete the Island Peak with Gokyo and EBC. The day is not over until you celebrate your hard earned success. Breakfast included.
