The Langtang Gosaikunda trek takes you to the beautiful northwestern Nepal. The cultural aspect of the trek is very rich as you pass through various Sherpas, Tamang settlement and enjoy their culture and their way of life. You will also get acquainted with many of the Buddhist cultures along the way. The journey takes you to the remote area of Langtang with the beautiful grasslands, rhododendron forests and juniper forests to keep you company throughout the journey.

Langtang National Park is one of the most conserved areas in Nepal with its diverse habitat of animals, birds, and plants which you will get to observe. However, this is not all. The view of the Majestic LangtangLirung (7,234m), Ganesh Himal range, Annapurna Himal Range, Manaslu (8,163m) will keep you mesmerized as these beautiful ice monstrosities will welcome you with their jaw-dropping peaks.

This 14 days trek is rated from easy to moderate in difficulty level and prior trekking experience is advised. However, we will make sure that even the beginners will see the end of the journey. The trails are rocky at parts and there are wide flat grasslands as well. The path is winding and goes uphill's and downhill's making the entire journey even more challenging.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Kathmandu - Syabrubesi (1,440m)

    From Kathmandu, we take a bus west to Syabrubesi. Along the way, we will observe the beautiful view of the mountains like Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu (8,163m) and several others. Similarly.we will also be accompanied by the beautiful rivers and hills as we pass through numerous villages. Approximately 9-10 hours of drive. BLD included.

  • Day 02: Syabrubesi - Lama Hotel (2,470m)

    This will be the start of our journey on foot. Ascending through the thick forest we reach Bamboo Village situated at elevation o f 1,850m. Through the rocky trails, we go upstream and cross a long suspension bridge above the Langtang River. Walking across Rhododendron forests we reach Lama Hotel Approximately 5-6 hours of walk.   • Day 03: Lama Hotel - Langtang (3,430m)

    For starters, we descend down through rocky trails in the forests. Then, we climb up the hill towards the valley. Here, the view of the beautiful LangtangHimal becomes visible. Continuing further we will reach GhoraTabela which is full of wildlife and plants. Reaching the Langtang National Park entrance, our permit will be checked and following the LangatangKhola we will reach Langtang Village where we will stay overnight. Approximately 5-6 hours of walk.   • Day 04: Langtang - KyanjinGompa (3,870m)

    After our breakfast, we will continue our trek upwards through local villages. Crossing the huge mani in the path we will continue through the valley alongside the riverbed. The beautiful Mt. Ganchempo and LangtangLirung starts becoming visible along the way and through the yak pastures we reach KyanjinGompa. Approximately 4-5 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 05: Excursion in KyanjinGompa (3,830m)

    This will be a good time to get accustomed to the high altitude as well as get a good view from the viewpoints around the area. We can explore LangshihsaKharka or visit the local areas. Similarly, we can also explore KyangjinRi (4,773m), Cherku Ro (5,150m). Similarly, other places to trek to would be the monastery or the cheese factory nearby.The view of the beautiful mountain ranges like LangtangLirung, KengaHimal, Genjempo and yak pastures is worth some great pictures.   • Day 06: KyanjinGompa - Lama Hotel

    We go back-back to Lama Hotel. The descent is rather easy and peaceful as you pass through the Rhododendron forest and along LangtangKhola with the sound of the river. We pass GhoreyTabala and after a while, we are back in Lama Hotel. Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 07: Lama Hotel - ThuloSyabru (2,230m)

    From Lama Hotel we start off to another destination. Through various Sherpa and Tamang settlements, we reach SyabruBesi. Following the trail, we pass through Bamboo and Rhododendron forests along the way. The beautiful Ganesh Himal will look even marvelous in this path. Continuing downhill, we will reach ThuloSyabru .Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 08: ThuloSyabru - Sing Gompa (3,330m)

    We take our breakfast and we start climbing up the rocky trails through the forests. Reaching the village of Dimsa we continue on further crossing the beautiful Hemlock, Oak and Rhododendron forests along the way. We reach Chandanbari and there the beautiful Himalayan ranges will look bigger and more majestic than ever before. We can visit the cheese factor in Chandabari. Continuing on we move through the oak and fir and reach SingGompa- a Buddhist Monastery. Approximately 4-5 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 09: Sing Gompa - Gosainkunda (4,460m)

    This will be a hard day trek. As you move on to a high pass leading to Gosaikunda. The trail gets harder and reaching Lauribinayak the rocky terrain and strong winds may provide some challenge. We continue through the rocky terrain and reach Gosainkunda Lake. Here, the settlement composes of the native Tamangs and Bhotias. Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 10: Gosainkunda - Gopte (3,440m)

    After a night well spent, we will continue out trek. Initially, we start walking downhill and cross a high pass. We will continue walking downhill through the forests and reach the Ghopte Village where we will stay overnight. Approximately 5-6 hours of walk. BLD included.

  • Day 11: Gopte - Malemchigaon (2,560m)

    Though the juniper and pine forests we will descend further and reach Tharepati. Further through rhododendron forests, we will trek down. The forests are famous for the availability of various species of birds.Take a few snaps along the way and we cross the village of Tharepati. Climb a ridge with the beautiful view of Jugal area we will reach Melamchigaon with the MelamchiRiver running underneath it. Approximately 6-7 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 12: Malemchigaon - TarkeGyang (2,590m)

    After our breakfast, we will continue to descend through the steep paths and reach Melamchiriver. Again we ascend up to Tarkegyang on the other side of the valley. This village is famous for Sherpa culture and the beautiful 18th century Gompa that is worth a visit. Approximately 6-7 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 13: TarkeGyang - Sermathang (2,610m)

    Trekking through a flat land, we will move through various local Sherpa villages. With the view of beautiful LangtangLirung (7,234m), Ganesh Himal, andRolwaling along the way we near the end of our journey. We reach Sermathang where we stay overnight at a lodge. Approximately 4-5 hours of walk. BLD included

  • Day 14: Sermathang - Melamchipul - Kathmandu

    In our last day, we start off from Sermathang after breakfast. We will trek all the way to Melamchi Bazaar. From Melachipul, we will drive back to Kathmandu. Breakfast included.
