Today, we will embark on one of fascinating sights on the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Considered to be one of the most dangerous as well as interesting flights in Nepal it offers the views of the entire range of the Everest region. After reaching the plateau of Lukla, we set off on the trek. We don’t have much to walk today, as we reach easily to Phakding. 40 minutes flight and 3-4 hours of trek included. BLD included.
Through pine forests, we follow the path to Benkar by crossing the DudhKoshi River. We then cross the entrance of the Everest National Park to Monjo. Cross a suspension bridge, and pass the Jorsale village to cross the DudhKoshi and BhoteKoshi Rivers. A short day as we trek across a wide pass to reach Dusa. The mighty Himalayas surround us from all over and we begin to see Mt. Pumori. We ascend to Dughla and walk more to visit the Memorial Shrine. 3-4 hours of trek. BLD included.
Ascend a steep moraine to reach the Khumbu Glacier, and we ascend the ChupkiLakpa ridge through boulder strewn slopes. We drop down to the Khumbu Glacier moraine and the views of the high peaks sprawled across looks amazing. 4 hours of trek. BLD included.
Today is the wonderful day when we ascend the Everest Base Camp and get a chance to witness the views of Everest from up close. The Everest View trek comes to an exciting point as we set off early morning on a glacier path to melt patterns. Admiring the rounded ice towers of the Khumbu Glacier, we reach Gorakshep and continue further upwards to reach the stunningly beautiful Everest Base Camp. Amazing views of the Everest from up close, along with those of Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Pumori makes this day a memorable one. We spend the night back in Gorakshep. 7-8 hours of trek. BLD included.
We start off early today too, in order to reach the highest point of the trek at Kalapatthar. We walk across a steep trail and observe the views of the Lingtren, Khumbutse and Changtse mountains along the path. Upon reaching the top, the views are spectacular, with the entire Everest Mountain and all its base camps appearing in view. We return back to Gorakshep and reach Pheriche today. 7-8 hours of trek. We lose 200- feet in elevation and descend through rhododendron and juniper trees to reach the bridge over DudhKoshi River. From here, the path reaches Sansa and the views of AmaDablam, Nuptse and Thamserku come to view. 6-7 hours of trek. BLD included.
We bid goodbye to the views of the mighty Everest, and return back to the Lukla plateau through a rocky terrain in a downhill trek. 6-7 hours of trek. BLD included.
